October 03 Psomizo GardenCurrent harvest weight: 356 lbs as of the end of September.
Jane, thank you very much for your volunteer work at the garden! May 19 Melody Gardens to get some groomingA quick but big THANK YOU! to Jenn H. for volunteering to put time into keeping the Melody Gardens groomed. Weeding is a tedious task, but she seems like the right person for the job! May 13 Cafe Garden work beginsI've begun work on the Cafe Gardens this week, and I hope to make progress quickly. Many (most) of the shrubs you see there now will be taken out and replaced with herbs. I look forward to having this area adopted as well, so if you're looking for a side hobby that will bring many joy (and flavors), contact me. Tea Gardens gets adopted! The Tea Gardens were recently adopted by Dan and Joanne Jacobs. If you feel led to, please join Dan in his effort to revive this area. Taking out the stumps is no easy task, and Dan has a tender back! :-) April 07 GardenAs you may already know, the fruit trees are now planted! Another one of the CHOSS planning committee volunteers contacted the YMCA, who the brought by a smal group of former-foster teens to do the planting. It was a very nice time, and the young adults were really great to talk with. Back to the trees, we have two Japanese plum trees (one red & one yellow) and Lupin cherries.
As for the remaining beds, I will save that space for vegetables until the trees dictate otherwise. At the moment, I am looking to plant veggies common to the Asian community. If you're interested in helping out with this specific garden, please let me know.
